Sam Heughan (“Outlander”) is a fan favorite as the new James Bond performer following the departure of Daniel Craig, according to a Radio Times poll.
Gaining 30% of the 80,000 votes cast on the polling site, the star topped established names like Idris Elba and Tom Hardy, both already ranked by the public among Craig’s main replacements.
During an interview with CinemaBlend, Heughan was excited to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond.
“There are several competitors, right? It’s going to be argued… You don’t want to talk about it, because there’s nothing to say. These are all media, and there is no weight, there is no truth. But I think how amazing it would be for me to experience the character. I was invited to audition when they did 007 – Casino Royale. It was amazing, but I was completely out of my league at the time. I feel like I’m the right age now and I’m really good at living the character. The time has come and it is a huge opportunity, ”he said.
Recall that Heughan has already played a secret agent in the comedy ‘My Ex is a Spy’, released in 2018.
While promoting the film, he revealed to ITV This Morning that he had always dreamed of bringing James Bond to life and even auditioned for “007 – Casino Royale” (2006).
If it depends on the audience, it can finally happen. What do you think of the idea?
