Continuing our start-of-year special, CinePOP has separated a list of ten albums that complete two decades in 2021.

Among the main picks we have Jennifer Lopez’s second album after the massive hit of 1999, as well as one of Destiny’s Child’s most famous productions. Legendaries Kylie Minogue, Björk and Alicia Keys are also on our list.

Jennifer Lopez’s second album pays homage to the affectionate nickname received by fans. Incorporating more personal music and dealing with subjects such as relationships, empowerment and sex, the work mixes dance-pop and R&B, in addition to reintroducing Latin inflections in traditional music. Debuting at the top of the Billboard charts, “J.Lo” features the singles “I’m Real” and “Love Don’t Cost a Thing”.

SURVIVOR, child of fate

Before pursuing a solo career, Beyoncé appeared in one of the most successful bands of all time, Destiny’s Child. Alongside Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, one of the trio’s best-known albums is “Survivor,” which features the eponymous single and tracks like “Bootylicious” and “Nasty Girl”. In addition to making its Billboard 200 debut, the work won two Grammy nominations the following year, including Best R&B Album.

Twenty years ago, the legendary Alicia Keys made her musical debut with “Songs in A Minor”. Bringing collaborations with Carlos Santana and The Notorious BIG, Michael Jackson’s tenth and final album incorporated elements of R&B, pop and soul. Despite mixed reviews upon release, “Invincible” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and has sold over six million copies, in addition to earning a Grammy nomination.

Britney Spears’ self-titled album is a milestone in pop culture and has broken several sales records and for the singer’s own career. Debuting with nearly 750,000 copies on the Billboard 200, the production represented the beginning of the pop princess’s maturity and sexual empowerment, being nominated for a Grammy for Best Vocal Pop Album and featuring songs. like “Boys”, “I ‘ma Slave 4 U” and a cover of “I Love Rock’ n ‘Roll”.
