Long after its confirmation, the ‘A Crazy One’ debut reboot was delayed on Peacock’s streaming platform (via The Hollywood Reporter).

The information reveals that the new episodes will not be released until 2022, with no date yet confirmed.

The decision came after showrunner Chris Collins left and the director was replaced by duo TJ Brady and Rasheed Newson. The casting has not yet started.

Remember that the platform, which belongs to NBCUniversal, has already given the green light for two seasons.

Will Smith, who played the main character, joins as executive producer alongside Morgan Cooper. Cooper will also script and direct certain episodes.

The original series aired on NBC between 1990 and 1996, with no less than 148 episodes. The success helped boost Smith’s career and also brought in the cast Alfonso Ribeiro, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Joseph Marcell, DJ Jazzy Jeff and James Avery (the latter having passed away in 2013).

In Brazil, the series was broadcast by SBT.
