‘A Prince in New York 2’ splits international criticism, bitter 53% approval rating on RT

The long-awaited sequel to ‘A Prince in New York’ is hitting the Amazon Prime Video catalog soon – but it looks like the new story hasn’t captured the hearts of international critics.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the feature has only gotten 53% approval, scoring 5.70 / 10 based on 62 reviews to date. According to the general consensus, “decades after his predecessor joked about the fine line between love and nausea, ‘A Prince in New York 2’ reminds audiences that there is an equally fine line between a streak. and a rehearsal.

In the new story, Akeem finds out he has a lost son in the United States and returns to find the new heir to the throne of the fictional kingdom of Zamunda.

The film is directed by Craig Brewer.

The cast also includes Arsenio Hall returning as Semmi and Shari Headley returning as Lisa McDowell, as well as Tracey Morgan (“ Cops in Trouble ”), Leslie Jones (“ Saturday Night Live ”, ‘Ghostbusters‘), Kiki Layne (‘If Beale Street Could Talk’), Wesley Snipes, John Amos and James Earl Jones.
