“ After – After the Truth ” hit the Amazon Prime catalog on the 15th and despite audience satisfaction, critics are kicking off the adaptation.

Directed by Roger Kumble, the sequel to ‘After’ is based on the second volume of the young adult book series, written by Anna Todd, who also signs the screenplay with Mario Celaya.

Even though it raised $ 57 million on digital platforms around the world, the film earned a meager 14% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a renowned aggregator of international reviews.

Among the main comments, reporters said the plot is generic, devoid of innovation and does not warrant interest in any footage from the original.

Some did not measure the words and even claimed that the film is an insult to viewers.

“Simply horrible.” After – is an insult. – Variety.

“Intended only for its target audience: young people who have the stomach to digest this nonsense.” – Film reviews by Dennis Schwartz.

“Do you know when a movie is so bad it’s good? This is not the case in “After – after the truth”. »- Decision-maker.

“Just another ‘romance’ full of tiring clichés and stereotypical stories.” – Spinach.

“Certainly the result is superior to the first … However, ‘After – After is plagued by terrifyingly predictable twists, horrific dialogue and the overuse of pop songs to try to convey emotion.” – New Zealand stuff.

The film follows the new phase of the relationship between Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) and Tessa Young (Josephine Langford), now separated. While trying to forget the young man who broke her heart, she begins an internship at Editora Vance. There, he meets Trevor (Dylan Sprouse), who turns his love life up even more.

Due to the excellent financial performance of a budget of only US $ 14 million, two new franchise chains have already been given the green light.

Chance Perdomo (‘The Dark World of Sabrina’), Stephen Moyer (‘True Blood’), Oscar winner Mira Sorvino (‘Mutation’), Arielle Kebbel (‘Midnight, Texas’) and Carter Jenkins (‘ Famous in Love ”) are the new casting introductions.

Castille Landon will be responsible for the making of the next two films, entitled “After We Fell” and “After Ever Happy” respectively.
