After controversy, Armie Hammer will be REPLACED in a film by Taika Waititi recorded more than two years ago

According to Deadline, Armie Hammer (‘The UNCLE Agent’) has finally been replaced in the upcoming biographical satire ‘Next Goal Wins’, directed by Taika Waititi.

Waititi reportedly decided to cover scenes from Hammer, which was not available, and invited Will Arnett (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) to replace him.

In the plot, Arnett will revive an American Football Federation executive known for a brutal FIFA game in 2001, in which they lost 31-0.

Apparently, Hammer would only make one appearance in the feature, but Arnett will matter more.

So far, it has not been revealed whether Waititi intends to re-record the scenes precisely to replace Hammer, with the star being accused of sexual violence and even cannibalism.

As a result, Hammer lost contracts with agencies and production companies and was also forced to abandon future projects already in development, such as the behind-the-scenes series of “The Godfather.”

In March last year, a young woman identified only as Effie, alleged that the actor raped her and held her in jail for more than four hours.

Additionally, actor’s ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers said her demeanor has changed since appearing in the movie “Call Me By Your Name”.

Chambers told friends and the US press that her ex-husband started to get violent and has become someone else since he got closer to Timothée Chalamet.

For her, the film ended up leaving irreversible psychological traces on Hammer.

As a result, she even banned him from participating in the sequel to the feature film, already confirmed by director Luca Guadagnino, but without yet a release forecast.

This would have been the main reason for their marriage breakdown.

More details have not been revealed, but Hammer is still under investigation and it appears his future as an actor is increasingly uncertain.

Recall that “Next Goal Wins” should make its debut this year, without a defined date.

The plot of is based on the documentary ‘The Next Goal Takes’, revolves around the American Samoa football team, known for their constant defeats and who decide to turn things around for the 2014 World Cup.

Michael Fassbender will bring to life an unorthodox Dutch coach who is tasked with helping the team, while Elisabeth Moss will bring to life a character not yet discriminated against. Kaimana will make his film debut as Jaiyah Saelua, the first non-binary player to compete in the Men’s World Cup.

Waititi is also responsible for the screenplay alongside Iain Morris.
