“Aladdin”: Live action to win a character-driven DERIVATIVE movie

The universe of ‘Aladdin’ continues to expand and in addition to a sequel, the production will also earn a new spinoff film, based on Prince Anders, a character played by Billy Magnussen.

The novelty was confirmed by the actor himself, in an exclusive interview with the ScreenRant portal. On occasion, when the actor released the release of the home video for “007: Sem Tempo Para Morer”, he spoke briefly about the upcoming project:

“Oh! This is what I have for you, the film is coming”.

Details regarding the derivative are kept confidential.

“Aladdin” exceeded all expectations and grossed $ 1.048 billion at the global box office. Naturally, Disney took advantage of the huge success to continue the live-action version, confirming that a new production is already confirmed.

But contrary to popular expectations, ‘Aladdin 2’ won’t be based on the ‘Return of Jafar’ animation, which is a direct continuation of the original production.

According to Variety magazine, the new live-action chapter will be original and should explore the vast universe of the news compiled in the book As Thousand and One Nights.

The Hollywood Reporter portal went even further and revealed that Mickey House even set up a meeting with a group of writers to brainstorm stories belonging to the literary work that could serve as a basis for the sequel. .

It is noteworthy that in the book some of the most famous fables are The Seven Voyages of Sinbad and Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.

Screenwriters John Gatins (‘The Flight’) and Andrea Berloff (‘Straight Outta Compton: The NWA Story’) have been chosen to work on the script for the sequel. Guy Ritchie returns to management.

The studio will also bring back the main cast of Will Smith (Genius), Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Naomi Scott (Jasmine) and Marwan Kenzari (Jafar).
