Are the characters of “Army of the Dead” stuck in a time loop? Zack Snyder talks about theory!

In ‘Army of the Dead’, a group of mercenaries attempt to break into a Las Vegas casino to steal $ 50 million before the zombie-infested town is wiped out by a missile.

In one of the scenes, there are several corpses strewn near the vault in which the protagonists try to break into.

Ironically, Vanderohe’s character (Omari Hardwick) makes a joke and says it’s him and his team, as if they’re stuck in a time loop, dying and returning to complete an eternally failed mission.

However, many fans took the joke seriously, as some of the skeletons wear the same necklaces as the mercenaries and their clothing is very similar.

In an interview with Netflix’s Geeked Board of Directors, director Zack Snyder didn’t dismiss the loop theory, saying it might be true.

“There are many clues in the film that support this theory. For example, you see in the sequence of the vault that the number of corpses is the same as those who died there, there is also the question of the necklaces, undoubtedly.

He continued:

“If you remember from the start, as soon as they enter the casino, Ward (Dave Bautista) says that Tanaka (Hiroyuki Sanada) sent other teams to try to get into the vault before them. There are bodies positioned there the same way some died in the climax of the movie. Stop and think. If you want to play this game, the pieces are all there.

So what do you think of the theory?
