“Batman” is one of the most anticipated films of 2022, and day after day fans receive more information and details on what to expect from production. In a recent interview with Empire, Zoe Kravitz, who plays Selina Kyle / Catwoman in the feature film, commented on how the narrative will approach the character – even indicating that her “origin story” is central to the plot.

“It’s an origin story for Selina,” she commented. “So that’s the start of her discovery of who she is, beyond someone trying to survive. I think there is a lot of room to grow up and I think we’ll see her become what I’m sure is a femme fatale.

It’s worth remembering that, during DC FanDome 2021, Kravitz commented on what Selina means to fans – and how she will be translated in the new movie.

“I obviously understand the seriousness of a character like this and what she means to so many people. But what seemed important was to focus on the story we’re telling right now, you know, and try to create a real person. I don’t want it to be an idea. I want her to be a real human being in a real situation, in a real city, trying to survive and reacting to her own pain and her own story.

Recall that ‘Batman’ debuts on March 4, 2023.

“Two years of patrolling the streets like Batman (Robert Pattinson), instilling fear in the hearts of criminals, took Bruce Wayne to the shadow of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies – Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis) and Lieutenant James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) – among the city’s corrupt network of officers and key figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance among his dear citizens. ”

When an assassin attacks Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the world’s greatest sleuth on an investigation into the criminal world, where he meets characters like Selina Kyle / Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot / Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) and Edward Nashton / Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to get personal and the scale of the author’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and do justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham.

In an interview, Reeves commented that the feature film will be different from previous films and won’t come across as a traditional origin story like we’ve seen in the past. As he explained, the film will reference its origins, showing a much more emotional and complex perspective.

“I felt like we had seen a lot of origin stories for the character. It seems like things are going deeper and deeper into that fantasy, and I was like, ‘Well, a place where we didn’t go found it the way the first year comics do, stepping right into a young Batman, not being an origin tale, but by referring to its origins and shaking it up to the point. heart. You can make your story really practical, but I also thought this might be the most touching Batman movie ever made. ”

In addition to Pattinson in the lead role, the cast includes Andy Serkis (Alfred), Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman), Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon), John Turturro (Carmine Falcone), Peter Skarsgaard, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham and brothers Max and Charlie Carver.
