After an intense fight against COVID-19, actress Nicette Bruno died today (20), at the age of 87.
Famous for having given life to Dona Benta in the series “ Sítio do Pica-Pau Amarelo ” (2001-2004), Nicette has been hospitalized since November 26 in the intensive care unit of the Casa de Saúde São José, in the southern zone of Rio do Rio in January.
In a statement, hospital spokespersons confirmed that she had not resisted complications from the coronavirus, since she was breathing through devices.
“La Casa de Saúde São José informs that the actress Nicette Bruno, admitted to the hospital since November 26, 2020, died today, at 11:40 am, as a result of complications related to Covid-19. The hospital is in solidarity with the family at this time.
Via Instagram, the star’s daughter and actress, Beth Goulart, said goodbye in a loving and nostalgic way.
In the post, she remembered her mother as the love of her life and shared a prayer for her and the victims of the disease:
“My mother, my life, my love… ‘Prayer for Nicete’ and for all Covid sufferers, a strengthening for family members and health teams who work tirelessly. Gratitude to all ”
Nicette was born in Niterói on January 7, 1933, and began her career at the age of four on a children’s program on Rádio Guanabara.
As a child, he took his first steps in the theater with the group of the Christian Youth Association (ACM).
But it was at the age of 14 that she became a professional actress, joining the Companhia Dulcina-Odilon, in which she made her debut in the play “La fille de Iório”.
For her performance as Ornela, she received a Breakthrough Actress Award from the Brazilian Association of Theater Critics.
For those who do not know, she started working at Rede Globo in 1981 at the invitation of director and actor Fabio Sabag, played as the nun Júlia in the series “Obrigado, Doutor”.
The following year, he played in his first novel in the role of Sara Mendes, mother of the paranormal lived by Regina Duarte, in “Sétimo Sentido”.
From there, she composed the cast of several other outstanding productions, such as ‘Louco Amor’ (1983), ‘Selva de Pedra’ (1986), ‘Rainha da Sucata’ (1990) and ‘Women of sand’ (1993 ).
Among his latest works are the soap operas “Éramos Seis” (2020), “I Love Paraisópolis” (2015) and Salve Jorge (2012).
