A few days ago, Production Weekly announced that recordings for “Good Penetrates 2” are scheduled to start in August of this year.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that protagonists Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson will return, along with Isla Fisher and Rachel McAdams.

However, Wilson did speak with the comic and despite confirming that the script is ready, he said there were no plans to start work on the sequel.

“Let’s see what happens. The script is ready and [o diretor] David Dobkin is polishing one thing or another, we’ve talked about that a lot. It was announced that we will be recording from August, but I can’t confirm that in fact I don’t see it happening so quickly.

He continued:

“First and foremost, we had to make sure everyone involved felt like we had a great story.”

As of yet, no further details about the productions have been revealed, but updates are expected to be released as soon as recording begins.

Released in 2005, the original film grossed over $ 288 million worldwide on a budget of $ 40 million.

In an interview with CinemaBlend, Vaughn commented on Dobkin’s new idea, suggesting that it could be the perfect premise for an upcoming chapter in the story.

“David Dobkin had a very good idea which is contemporary. I never went and did a sequel to a lot of those movies back then because I felt like we were just going after a hit. But what I like about the direction that “Sweet Crackers” could take is that there is something that is right now that is pretty good… A lot of these comedies, even something like “Suckers” , you investigate things that I think are real in our lives, but comedy is a great commitment to the absurd.

At the time, Dobkin commented on the bias of the new plot:

“I had an idea that stuck in my head. Ten years later, these guys are in their forties and end up single. What to do now? This is interesting to me because I know guys who are at this stage and have ended up single, either because their marriage has broken down or because they haven’t found someone they would like to marry with. . And it’s a journey through the mind of man, this idea that maybe you’ll never be a father and never get married. It has therefore become a real cultural issue and an interesting subject for the film. “

In the interview, he also commented that he was asked to do a sequel years ago, but the first idea wouldn’t have been so original:

“We’ve been talking about it for many, many years. Vince and Owen sat down with me at a point where they were pushing us to do something, and we had a lot of fun, but we came to the conclusion that we were doing a remake of the same movie and that wasn’t what we wanted .”
