“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” a sequel to the 2018 hit film, signed another big name in its cast.

According to Variety, actress Michaela Coel, creator and star of the original “I May Destroy You” series, has joined the cast of the film.

The role has not been revealed.

The actress received four Primetime Emmy nominations for her series.

The cast includes Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett and Danai Gurira. Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya and Florence Kasumba are also expected to return for the film.

Earlier this year, Nyong’o broke his silence by returning to the project after the death of Chadwick Boseman. At the time, she said she was in a “very reflective” condition.

“People ask me, ‘Are you so glad to be back? Excitement is not the right word. I feel like I’m in a very thoughtful and meditative state when it comes to Black Panther 2. Chadwick’s passing is still extremely difficult for me, ”Nyong’o told Yahoo!

Details of the “Black Panther” sequel remain under wraps, but one thing is certain: Chadwick Boseman’s legacy will be preserved and honored.

Sadly, the interpreter of King T’Chala passed away at the age of 42 in August 2020 after a silent battle with cancer.

Marvel Studios Creative Director Kevin Feige spoke to Rotten Tomatoes and explained how the new film will deal with the star’s absence.

“Our plans are all to continue the legacy of Chad and Wakanda and to continue this story in a very meaningful, respectful, hopeful, fun and exciting way, which was difficult after the loss of Chad.”

He continued:

“Her death hit us all extremely hard and at the same time she hit the world because we didn’t know what we were going to do either. There were all kinds of questions and it was scary. For weeks, our thoughts weren’t on the film, but on his family, his wife and his legacy, and there’s no doubt he will be honored.

Production Weekly has leaked the synopsis for the film which puts Atlantis and Namor in its wake.

“Wakanda and Atlantis are hidden civilizations with advanced technology and superior military capabilities that have decided to separate themselves from the rest of the world for their own safety and, in a way, out of fear. Wakanda feared that its technology was being abused. Alantis feared that surface dwellers would desecrate the mythical city like they did so many years ago

However, their fears are further heightened when these two nations, once hidden, collide. Wakanda and Atlantis have a surprisingly intertwined history. Wakanda is the only country in the world to have access to vibranium. However, rumors of his power spread around the world and Namor’s human father has been sent to search for this rare material in Antarctica. The war is about to begin.

Remember that Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta will be Namor.

The film is scheduled to premiere in Brazil on July 7, 2022.

Ryan Coogler returns as director and screenwriter.

“Black Panther” was released in 2018 and was a huge box office success, grossing over $ 1.3 billion worldwide. Plus, it becomes the first superhero film to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.
