“Black Widow 2”: the director talks about a possible sequel

In an interview with ComicBook, director Cate Shortland raised the possibility of a ‘Black Widow’ sequel. Although he did not confirm the development of a new film, the filmmaker was very interested in continuing the story.

“I think all of these characters are great and I feel like people want to see diversity. We all want to see superheroines break out. I think everyone is interested in watching more movies with them.

Previously, Kevin Feige commented on the project: “This film is Natasha’s personal story, but it’s also a chance for us to explore the past, present and future of MCU and all of its characters.”

It’s worth remembering that “Black Widow” grossed an impressive $ 39.5 million on Friday at the US box office, with projections pointing to a start of $ 89 million in its first weekend in the country – the PLUS. BIG start since the start of the pandemic.

In the spy thriller, Natasha Romanoff confronts the darker aspects of her rationality when a dangerous plot linked to her past emerges. Pursued by a force that will not stop until it destroys it, Natasha must come to terms with her spy story and the broken relationships left after becoming an Avenger.

In addition to Johansson in the lead role, the cast includes David Harbor, Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh and OT Fagbenle.
