According to Deadine, a new remake of the classic slasher ‘Bloody Christmas’ (Silent Night, Deadly Night), released in 1984, is in development.

Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, who produced the original feature film, will also produce the new version through Wonderwheel Entertainment.

In an official statement, they said, “The continued desire for horror content and the success of the genre brings the perfect time to resurrect this iconic title.”

Directed by Charles E. Sellier Jr., the original feature film revolved around Billy, who saw his parents being killed by a murderer disguised as Santa Claus as a child. Decades later, Bully dons the Santa costume and begins his own massacre.

New details about the remake are expected to be released soon.

The original franchise gave four sequels. Additionally, a remake, starring Jaime King (“ Macabre Valentine’s Day ”), was released in 2012.
