According to the comic, actor and comedian Kevin Hart (“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle“) was cast as Roland in the game adaptation “Borderlands“.

Described as a decent war veteran, Roland is a former member of the Crimson Lance military organization, and now operates as a mercenary.

It has been said that Roland will be portrayed as a very dramatic character, which can be an interesting challenge for the comedian.

In games, he is trained by the Atlas Corporation as a never-fail gunner, specializing in heavy weapons such as rifles and shotguns.

Speaking of the choice, director Eli Roth argued that the film will show “a side of Hart that audiences have never seen before,” and even said the star is perfect for the role.

Enjoy watching:

“I am delighted to be working with Kevin. His role in “Borderlands” is different from what he’s used to, and we look forward to an exciting audience with a side of Kevin they’ve never seen before. He’s going to be an incredible Roland.

Remembering that Hart joins Cate Blanchett.

For those who don’t know, the star will bring Lilith to life, a powerful character who is part of the group known as the Mermaids, formed by women with incredible and unimaginable powers.

Blanchett is known for countless works including “Carol”, “Blue Jasmine”, “Eight Women and a Secret” and “The Lord of the Rings“. She has already won two Oscars, three BAFTA statuettes and three Golden Globes. He recently starred in the dramatic comedy “Where are you, Bernadette?” and the biographical series’ Mrs. America’.

The original franchise revolves around a group of “Safe Hunters” looking for an alien hiding place on the planet Pandora, which blends well with Roth’s previous work.

He is known to have directed many horror and suspense feature films including “Cannibals”, “Hostel“, “Cabana do Inferno” and “Beat Before You Enter”.

Recalling that the screenplay is written by Craig Mazin (creator of the drama “Chernobyl”).

“I’m excited to dive into the world of ‘Borderlands’, and I couldn’t do it with a better screenplay, producer and studio. I have a long and very successful history with Lionsgate – I feel like we grew up together and everything in my career peaked at that point, ”said Mazin.

The game saga launched in 2009 and featured three sequences: “Borderlands 2” (2012), “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel” (2014) and “Borderlands 3” (2019). The original tale takes place in the distant future, at a time when several mega-corporations seek to control as many planets as possible, colonize them, and explore their abundance of natural resources and minerals.
