‘Bridgerton’: Regé-Jean Page does not return for season 2 of the series

Filming for Season 2 of the beloved “Bridgerton” series has already started and, according to new information, one of the main characters of the first cycle will not be returning: The Duke of Hastings.

The news was announced in a Lady Whistledown newsletter, which recounted the episodes of the first season. The text thanks Regé-Jean Page for his participation as an iconic and charming protagonist, as it confirms the transfer of narrative focus to Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his search for a bride.

Phoebe Deynevor returns as Daphne Bridgerton and remains a “vital part” of the story.

On his Instagram account, Page thanked for the opportunity to participate in the work and congratulated the creative and technical team of the series:

“The adventure of a lifetime. It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to be your Duke. Join this family – not just on screens, but outside of them. Our generous, amazing and creative cast, crew and fans – it was all so much more than you might imagine. Love is real and will only grow, ”he wrote.

Recalling that Simone Ashley (“Sex Education”) was listed in the next cycle as Kate Sharma, Anthony’s romantic interest. Kate is described as an intelligent and strong woman who is not fooled by anyone.

The story follows the life of the eight brothers of the Bridgerton family, one of the most important in English high society in the 19th century.
