BUT ALREADY ? 10 albums that complete 10 years in 2022

Remembering the past can be a somewhat melancholy task – but not when it comes to the phonographic scene.

Ten years ago the music world was bombarded with several releases of enormous caliber – from Lana Del Rey’s official debut with the beloved “Born to Die”, the return of Madonna with the exaggerated frenzy of ‘MDNA’ is the debut of the highly anticipated and highly acclaimed Taylor Swift ‘Red’.

With that in mind and to complete our trip down memory lane, CinePOP has separated a brief list of ten albums that complete a decade in 2022.

Check it out below and tell us which one is your favorite:

Released: January 27

Enjoy watching:

Although she made her debut with her self-titled album two years earlier, Lana Del Rey officially came to life with the release of “Born to Die”. Embracing its alter ego emphatically, the production is an unexpected mix of EDM and trip hop that has put its name in the spotlight. With more than 7 million copies sold worldwide, the disc has several singles, including the title track, “Summertime Sadness”, “Video Games” and many others.

Released: March 23

In the midst of an aesthetic that puts her back in the center of the controversy, Madonna has chosen to build a kind of synthetic drug whose goal is to make her fans addicted – but the choices, once again, were wrong in the most of the pieces. With “MDNA”, which makes a “masked” mention of the use and effects of ecstasy (MDMA), the highlights are more limited to promotional material and the incredible CD cover (which premeditates the distortions and the onomatopoeias of which it is worth) than the songs themselves.

Release: April 2

With ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’, iconic rapper Nicki Minaj built a sonic journey that would serve as a direct sequel to her debut in 2010. Joined various producers and songwriters, spawning enduring hits like “Starships” , “Pound the Alarm” and “Va Va Voom” – in addition to having sold over 1 million copies in the United States alone.

Release: May 1

Three years after her last album, Carrie Underwood, one of the most recognizable names on the contemporary country scene, is back with unparalleled strength with her fourth original compilation, “Blown Away.” Hailed by critics and sales success (with over 2 million copies in the United States alone), the production includes songs such as “Two Black Cadillac” and “See You Again” and has earned the artist a Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance by Title Song.

Released: June 18

When we think of musical originality, Fiona Apple is the artist who best meets these expectations (or, in this case, surprises us album by album). With “The Idler Wheel…”, whose title is taken from a poem written by the performer herself, Apple once again enshrined pop art as an artistic genre, acclaimed by universal critics and honored as the one of Everytime’s greatest singers and songwriters.

Released: Aug 22

Alanis Morissette made a name for herself on the contemporary scene in the late ’90s with “Jagged Little Pill” – and will continue to be adored by her fans decades later. With ‘Havoc and Bright Lights’, his sixth studio album, the artist returned to focus on soft-rock and collaborated with Guy Sigsworth and Joe Chiccarelli. Despite mixed reviews, the production recorded strong sales worldwide.

Release: October 22

‘Good Kid, MAAD City’ is rapper Kendrick Lamar’s second studio album – and soon after its release it established itself as an instant classic. The production, which spans 12 tracks in the standard version, featured appearances by musicians such as Drake and Jay-Z. Praised by pundits, Lamar has won no less than four Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year.

Release: October 22

Taylor Swift began to transition between musical genres with ‘Red’, one of the best and most consistent entries in her discography. Here, the artist’s versatility begins to surface in a country-pop that incorporated several other inflections and premeditated its maturity, culminating in the aforementioned “1989”. Resuming her partnership with Max Martin and Shellback, Swift left the world with an epic sound production, including the evocative “All Too Well”.

Release: November 9

Considered by many fans to be one of Christina Aguilera’s most underrated works, ‘Lotus’ has divided specialist critics due to sonic conventionalism and lyrical content – but that hasn’t stopped audiences from stopping by. have fun with very catchy songs, such as like the first single “Your Body”. Here dance-pop and rock have come together thanks to producers like Alex da Kid and Max Martin, in addition to being organized by Aguilera herself.

Release: November 19

Rihanna’s seventh studio album, titled “Unapologetic”, may have been underestimated by music experts – especially considering the sheer number of promotional singles generated by the record. Incorporating elements of hip hop, EDM, dubstep and reggae, the artist has stayed true to the artistic content of previous albums and brought songs such as “Stay”, “Diamonds” and “Pour It Up to life. “, in addition to having conquered the Grammy for best contemporary urban album.
