Can ‘Birds of Prey’ win a sequel? Margot Robbie responds!

“Birds of Prey” promised to be a huge success and a revolution in the adaptations of DC Comics to bring the first group of anti-heroines to the big screen.

However, the feature film made just $ 201.8 million worldwide, on a budget of $ 85 million. In other words, the film only paid for itself – but did not generate the expected profit.

So it looks like Warner Bros. has no plans to invest in a sequel, at least for now.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Margot Robbie, Harley Quinn, was asked about the subject and gave a somewhat disheartening response.

“I don’t know anything about a straight guy. Right now I don’t think there are any plans or anything worth mentioning.

Despite this, the actors hope to reprise their roles in the future.

In an interview with Uproxx, Rosie Perez, a performer of Renee Montoya, revealed that she would be ready to return to the sequel if the studio gives the green light.

“I mean, if that happens, sure. When you say that, the first thing that comes to my mind is “my God, I need to lose weight and get back in shape.”

Perez is not the only one to have expressed an interest in revisiting the universe of anti-heroines. In a recent interview with Comic Book, Chris Messina, who played villainous Zsasz, said he would love to reprise the role and have no hesitation in returning to the DC Universe.

“I loved playing the character and I love this group of people, it was really fun and new to me. I would love to be able to replay it, see it from new perspectives. I don’t have a plan for that, but if they called me, I would go ”.

It’s worth remembering that director Cathy Yan revealed to The Wrap that she has ideas for a sequel to the film and intends to explore the relationship between Harley Quinn and the Poison Ivy.

“I would love to bring Poison Ivy to the movies and I would invest in a relationship between her and Harley Quinn, because it would be completely difficult and shocking to see two strong characters take control of a new franchise,” the filmmaker said.

When asked if she still hopes to direct the streak, Cathy looked confident.

“I don’t know, but I don’t think people are ready to say goodbye to Harley Quinn. I also think that Margot [Robbie] you still have plenty of room to play it for a few more years, so … who knows. Hope we can do it.

Criticism | Birds of Prey – DC strikes again with fun, colorful and lively movie

Have you ever heard of this one about the cop, the bird, the psychotic and the mafia princess? “ Birds of Prey ” is a warped tale told by Harley Quinn herself, and the only way Harley can tell. When Gotham City’s most narcissistic and nefarious villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand man, Zsasz, target the girl Cass, the city turns to look for her. The paths of Harley, Huntress, Black Canary, and Renee Montoya collide, and the team has no choice but to knock Roman off their pedestal.

The cast includes Margot Robbie (Harlequin), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Huntress), Jurnee Smollett-Bell (Black Canary), Rosie Perez (Renee Montoya), Ella Jay Basque (Cassandra Cain), Ewan McGregor (Black Mask) and Chris Messina ( Victor Zsasz).
