Chloe Zhao won the 2021 Oscar for Best Director for her work on “Nomadland” and this year directed the controversial “Eternos”, a new adaptation from Marvel Studios.

From now on, the director will bring her vision to the “Star Wars” saga, in particular for the film produced by Kevin Feige, creative director of Marvel.

According to One Take News and Cinelinx, Feige picked the director to lead the project.

During an interview with The Playlist (via Comic Book), the filmmaker had already announced that she would accept the mission to direct the film:

“I would like to. I will take whatever Kevin asks me to do.

Earlier this year, she had already been asked about the possibility of joining Lucasfilm, and she has never hidden her interest in the franchise created by George Lucas.
