Cinemas set to close again in São Paulo with new government restrictions

In the aftermath of the second round of elections, São Paulo Governor João Doria announced that he would expand restrictive measures against the coronavirus statewide from today (30).

The plan to open up the economy has returned to the yellow phase.

Cultural activities were only authorized by the government after the green phase, so if there is no change in criteria, cinemas may be forced to temporarily close their doors.

Apart from cinemas, theaters, museums and libraries, they may be forced to close their doors.

As activities have been closed since March, some cinemas in São Paulo did not resume their activities until the end of September.
