Cinephiles Are Scared Of Warner’s Decision To Stream 2021 Movies

In an unprecedented decision, Warner Bros. has announced that all of its 2021 releases will air simultaneously in theaters and on the HBO Max streaming service, following the same release pattern as “ Wonder Woman 1984 ”.

Titles include ‘The Suicide Squad’, ‘Matrix 4’, ‘Dune’, ‘The Many Saints of Newark’, ‘In a New York Neighborhood’, ‘Space Jam 2’, ‘Mortal Kombat’ and ‘Godzilla vs. Kong ‘.

The strategy is a direct response to the coronavirus pandemic, which remains a major global threat, preventing theaters from functioning normally.

Obviously, netizens panicked with this shocking news. And we’ve separated some of the main reactions for you!

very intelligent horn. cinema will have the second worst year in history in 2021, they were going to lose a lot of money and found a way to close that gap by also getting into hbo max. there is no billion until the end of 2022.

Shocked by Warner releasing ALL of their movies to stream on HBO Max, it’s a very risky decision for them who haven’t even tested this area with Wonder Woman 1984

Warner Bros. stresses that this agreement will not be permanent. Only the 2021 films are part of this plan, which is a direct response to the ongoing pandemic. There are no plans to continue this wave in 2022, at least for now.

“We are living in unprecedented times, which require creative solutions, including this new initiative for Warner Bros. Pictures Group, ”said Ann Sarnoff, President and CEO of WarnerMedia. “Nobody wants movies to come back to the big screen more than us. We know new content is the cornerstone of theatrical presentations, but we have to balance that with the fact that most theaters in the United States are likely to be operating at reduced capacity throughout 2021. ”

Do you think cinemas are in danger of extinction?
