In an interview with EW, executive producer Alex Kurtzman revealed that Hannibal Lecter will not appear in “Clarice,” a series that will focus on Clarice Starling and continue the events of “The Silence of the Lambs.”
“I’m still trying to figure out how the rights are divided, but it’s been very liberating because we have no interest in writing about Hannibal – it’s not because we don’t like the movies and the series, but because the character was portrayed so well before that. we think it wouldn’t be something new for us.
It’s worth remembering that the production will debut on February 11 on CBS.
The project was written by Alex Kurtzman, who is also an executive producer.
The series will take place in 1993, a year after the events of the classic film. The plot will deepen the personal story of Clarice Starling as she pursues serial killers and sexual predators and must take risks in the political world of Washington.
Rebecca Breeds (‘Pretty Little Liars’) plays the role of Clarice Starling. The cast also includes Kal Penn, Nick Sandow, Michael Cudlitz Jayne Atkinson, Shawn Doyle, Tim Guinee and Marnee Carpenter.
