When Netflix acquired the broadcast and production rights for “Cobra Kai”, only five seasons were planned for the derivative of “Karate Kid”.

However, showrunner Josh Heald has previously revealed that he has plans for something more than that.

And, during an interview with Collider, the filmmaker confirmed that the attraction’s 6th season is already in the works.

“There are characters and storylines that we envisioned from the start. In some cases, we would have said, “Okay, this lasts a season,” and that storyline ended up playing out in an episode or two. And then there’s the opposite of that, when a specific storyline can span more than one season. That’s why we always look at our original plan with an open mind, because there are so many new directions, characters, interactions… ”

He continued:

“When you deepen certain relationships, you naturally develop more stories. We still have a plan for the end of the series, but we’re already writing material beyond Season 5. It was fun bringing these new ones. characters and seeing them walk their own roads.
