In an EXCLUSIVE interview with CinePOP, star Henry Golding opened up about the possible crossover of “Transformers” and “GI Joe” in theaters.

The actor, who stars in “Snake Eyes,” said the crossover is 100% possible.

“I used to read the comics with the crossover between the characters. They exist in the same universe. Who knows? They are currently developing a new Transformers movie. I hope we can explore the universe of GI Joe at the same time, ”he said.

Recently, producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura told Uproxx why the crossover hasn’t happened yet.

“To tell you the truth, the studio doesn’t want that to happen. That’s why we never did. The executives who went through Paramount while we were making the films for these franchises were against it. They didn’t want to take two profitable franchises and turn them into one. As long as we have stories for the two franchises, I still don’t think we should put them together. But see ‘Alien vs. Predator ‘, the movie spoiled the two franchises a bit, ”he said.

Remember, ‘GI Joe Origins: Snake Eyes’ opens August 19 in theaters nationwide.
