‘Dexter’: official synopsis reveals details of plot of revival

According to THR, Marcos Siega will direct six of the ten episodes of the rebirth of “Dexter”. The filmmaker had already directed nine episodes of the previous seasons of the series.

Additionally, the website posted the official rebirth synopsis, revealing new plot details.

Taking place 10 years after Dexter Morgan’s disappearance during Hurricane Laura, the rebirth will show the character living a new identity far from Miami.

In an interview with THR, showrunner Clyde Phillips said the new episodes will be a chance to fix things.

“We are going to start from scratch. This will not be the ninth season of “Dexter”. Ten years will have passed since the end of the series and the revival will reflect this passage of time. When at the end, there will be no resemblance to the original result. This is a great opportunity to write a second conclusion. “

He continues: “This is an opportunity to fix things, but we won’t reverse anything. We’re not going to betray the audience by saying, “Oops, that was a dream”. What happened in the first eight seasons really happened.

With 10 episodes ordered, the rebirth of “ Dexter ” is set to air in 2021.

Michael C. Hall will reprise his role.

Clyde Phillips, executive producer of the original series, will be the showrunner of the rebirth.

“’Dexter is a very special series, for fans and for Showtime, as this series helped put this channel on the map a few years ago,” said channel president Gary Levine. “We would only bring this character back if we could find something that honors the brilliance of the original series. Well, I’m happy to say that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall found it and we can’t wait to film it and show it to the world.

“Dexter” ran for eight seasons, ending its plot in what is considered, until today, “one of the worst series finals of all time.” Will the revival help cleanse the image of the series and correct the mistakes of its outcome?

Remember, all eight seasons of the original series are available on Amazon Prime.
