Teen thriller series ‘Cruel Summer’ has finally arrived in Brazil and delivered as promised: gripping narrative, sour dialogue and unforgettable performances by a cast of Chiara Aurelia, Olivia Holt, Harley Quinn Smith, Sarah Drew and many more others.

The storyline takes place in a small Texas town called Skylin, plagued by the disappearance of high school’s most popular girl, Kate Wallis (Holt). And Jeanette (Aurelia), until then an excluded young woman, assumes the post of new popular high school. But everything gets out of hand and Jeanette’s life intersects with Kate’s mysterious disappearance.

DARK (2017 – 2020)

Four different families – Kahnwald, Nielsen, Doppler, and Tiedemann – live in Winden, a seemingly quiet little German town. The routine of residents is turned upside down when two children mysteriously disappear on the edge of a former nuclear power plant. Family secrets begin to emerge as police investigate the disappearances and soon realize a connection to equally dark events of the past. Time and space seem to blend more and more, triggering a series of tragedies which, oddly enough, are repeated with each generation.

ELITE (2018 – PRESENT)

‘Elite’ accompanies everyday life in Las Encinas, the best and most exclusive school in Spain, attended only by children from wealthy and influential families. Everything begins to change when three students from the public school are transferred there following an earthquake that destroyed their old school. Christian (Miguel Herrán), Nadia (Mina El Hammani) and Samuel (Itzan Escamilla) consider themselves lucky for change, but quickly become the targets of an overwhelming class difference. Students like Marina (Maria Pedraza), Lu (Danna Paola) and Polo (Álvaro Rico), used to doing everything as they please, will make the stay for newcomers even more difficult. And it is not only the social conditions that clash: the routine of Las Encinas is, in fact, marked by tensions, intrigues and many conflicting emotions. This contrast between the underprivileged and the rich culminates in a mysterious murder. It remains to be seen: who is behind the crime? Is the killer one of the novices? Or is there something darker lurking in the hallways?

The new Netflix sensation, season 2 of which arrived on the platform a few days ago, couldn’t be left out. The story centers on the Outer Banks in North Carolina, a place marked by the poignant social divide between the rich and the working class. In the midst of it all, a group of teenagers are determined to find out what happened to the father of John B. Along, the Chief, who has mysteriously disappeared and may be linked to a legendary hidden treasure.

At a party, teenager Puleng (Ama Qamata) meets Fikile (Khosi Ngema), a famous swimmer and student prodigy at a school in Cape Town. The encounter makes Puleng suspicious of the young athlete, believing that she is, in fact, his older sister, who was kidnapped shortly after giving birth. Puleng then infiltrates Fikile’s high school to approach him and attempt to uncover the truth behind his sister’s disappearance years ago.

NO ONE DONE (2020 – PRESENT)

Originally broadcast by the BBC, the British drama “Nobody Made It” was acquired by Netflix and has taken the world by storm with a captivating and mysterious plot that deserves our attention. The plot centers on a group of girls who form the DGM (Don’t Get Mad), an entity designed to expose bullies in their school. However, when one of their targets is murdered and found with a written DGM note, they realize that someone is trying to arm them with murder.

CONTROL Z (2020 – PRESENT)

In another hugely popular Netflix production, “Control Z” takes us into the dangerous and complicated world of technology and cyberbullying. In the plot, a hacker exposes a transgender student to the entire college and, not happy, continues to reveal the students’ secrets to pit themselves against each other. Trying to find out who the hacker is, introvert Sofía Herrera races against the clock before her secrets are revealed.
