“ The Irregulars of Baker Street ” recently made its Netflix catalog debut and provided the protagonism for some supporting cast members not too much remembered in the Sherlock Holmes universe.

The main characters are street children who know London’s underworld like no one else, helping Holmes and Dr Watson in several cases requiring greater subtlety. In the adaptation of the streaming platform, the plot remained rooted in the mysterious forays, but added elements of the supernatural to the episodes and won over audiences.

It seems obvious to start with this choice, but “Sherlock” is one of the most beloved and acclaimed productions of recent years. The acclaimed adaptation of “… And No One Left”, a classic novel by Agatha Christie, is a three-part miniseries that takes audiences involved with ten main characters who are invited by a mysterious tycoon to visit a remote island in the Pacific. One by one, they are brutally murdered – until one last poor soul remains.

‘Sleepy Hollow’ may have declined in its last two seasons, but it got off to a good start by recreating the classic ‘Legend of the Headless Knight’ tale. In this reinvention, Ichabod Crane wakes up in contemporary America and finds his executioner returning from the dead to continue his legacy of chaos and destruction – in addition to foreshadowing the end of the world.

Despite the earthy opening season, “The Alienist” is a competent two-cycle series that brings the best of investigation to small screens. With Luke Evans, Dakota Fanning and Daniel Brühl in the main cast, the production follows a dangerous serial killer whose victims are street children (more precisely, call boys).

One of the best films of 2019 couldn’t be excluded from our list: ‘Between Knives and Secrets’ is a clear and beautiful tribute to Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, revolving around the strange and dubious death of a famous cop writer. . Hired to investigate the case, Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) discovers that, among the novelist’s mysterious employees and the conflicting family, anyone can be considered a suspect in the crime.

Rachel (Emily Blunt), an unemployed and depressed alcoholic, suffers from her recent divorce. Every morning, she travels by train from Ashbury to London, fantasizing about the life of a young couple staring out the window.
