The Walt Disney Company will broadcast its Investor Day 2020, today (December 10), starting at 6:30 p.m. and lasting approximately four hours.
This year’s edition will focus on the company’s streaming service and include several new features compared to the year 2021 for entertainment, sports and culture programs.
However, don’t expect an explosive announcement like the one for HBO Max, which will release major versions of Warner Bros. in its catalog next year.
While “ Mulan ” has been streaming, it’s unlikely that big budget titles like “ Black Widow ” will be added to the Disney + catalog before their theatrical release.
Unlike HBO Max, the Disney platform didn’t need fancy tactics to rack up its 73.5 million subscribers in just one year.
Despite this, the studio has suffered huge financial losses due to room closures caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
This means that executives must prepare a series of strategies in order to attract and retain a new audience.
As rumors have already pointed out, Variety was keen to remember that long-awaited titles like live action from “Cruella” and “Pinocchio” could be the big bets for Disney + for next year.
Another new thing is expected to be the confirmation of premiere dates for the next MCU series, such as “Falcão and the Winter Soldier”, “Loki”, “Gavião Arqueiro” and “Ms Marvel”.
Earlier, the New York Times also reported that Lucasfilm was preparing to reveal a major project based on the “Star Wars” saga.
The announcement could be possible confirmation of the “Boba Fett” miniseries, or details on the production of “Kenobi” and the spinoff series of “Rogue One”.
Building on the success of “O Mandaloriano”, details about the 3rd season may also be mentioned at the event.
Recalling that Leslye Headland, co-creator of Netflix’s “ Russian Doll ”, is also developing a new series for a galaxy franchise that is very, very distant.
In addition, the studio is also expected to announce original programming that may have been developed in secret during the pandemic, such as films and series in various genres.
This can include new attractions from the Marvel Universe, new live action inspired by classic Disney animations, and more informative content, like the recent documentary “ Sobrevoando ”.
With narrations by Rodrigo Santoro, the program broadcasts drone tours and offers a unique and enchanting view of different and impactful Latin American landscapes.
Well the possibilities are endless so we can only wait to find out what they are up to for the public.
