Does “Spider-Man 3” make a connection with the “Loki” series? The writers respond!

At the end of the ‘Loki’ series, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) and the cheating god played by Tom Hiddleston encounter a variant of Kang called The One Who Stands (Jonathan Majors).

The character, who is also the founder of the Temporal Variance Agency, gives them a choice … Leave him alive so he can continue to manage the deadlines, or kill him and trigger a pause in the multiverse.

As Sylvie had planned from the start of the plot, she ends up murdering the One Who Remains after being ruined by the AVT.

After that, we see that the sacred timeline eventually changed… And, for many onlookers, this is where the Multiverse began.

Because of this, fans wondered if the multiverse breakdown was what really hindered the fate of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) in “Spider-Man: No Return Home”.

During an interview with The Wrap, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, writers of “Spider-Man 3”, were asked about it.

In response, McKenna said it was a good theory, but that she didn’t really see a relationship between the two accounts:

“We were already working on the concept of the multiverse when this end of Loki happened. We all think this really helps lend more credence to the expansion of this concept in the MCU. This is great because it shows that there are issues all over the Multiverse, not just in our history. “

He continued:

“But if the events of ‘Loki’ tie into those of ‘Spider-Man 3’, I don’t know. I don’t see how the Multiverse explosion in ‘Loki’ would tie into Doctor Strange’s spell. sure there are talking points about that within Marvel itself. But in our movie, we were too busy with Peter’s issues to add fuel to the fire. We knew some things could affect others in terms of its connection to the plot, but we were focused on our movie.

Recalling that “Spider-Man: No Return Home” continues to be shown in theaters.
