Dustin Diamond, known for playing the character of Screech in the comedy ‘Uma Galera do Barulho’, has died at the age of 44.

The actor died after a battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

“We are sad to confirm that Dustin Diamond died on Monday February 1, 2020 from carcinoma,” the actor’s agency said in a statement. “He was diagnosed with this brutal and relentless form of malignant cancer just three weeks ago. The cancer managed to spread quickly throughout his system; the only mercy he showed was his swift death. Dustin didn’t suffer. He didn’t need to suffer. For this we are grateful. ”

On January 15, the actor was admitted to a hospital in Florida to determine the type and severity of the cancer. At the time, his representative revealed that Diamond had been diagnosed with stage IV cancer, which started with a lump in his throat.

In addition to the original series, the actor also appeared in spin-off productions “Saved by the Bell: The College Years” and “Saved by the Bell: The New Class“.

Remember that a reboot of ‘Uma Galera do Barulho’ was released to stream Peacock and was recently renewed for the 2nd season.

His character was even mentioned in the new version of the series, citing that Screech lived on an International Space Station with his robot, Kevin.
