In his official Instagram, star Dwayne Johnson revealed the front page of the screenplay for “ Black Adam, ” the upcoming DC film in which he will be the titular antihero.
The video in question features Johnson reading a deep sentence, which reads, “Well, I would like to use a rainbow every day and tell the world it’s okay. But I’ll try to carry some darkness on my back until things are clearer… I’m the man in black ”.
In an interview with ComicBook, producer Hiram Garcia revealed that filming for the long-awaited adaptation of “ Black Adam ” will begin, after suffering several delays due to the COVID pandemic.
“We will soon start production. Filming will begin in April in Georgia. We are very excited about it. Everything is ready and we can’t wait. “
He adds: “This project is very special for us, with all these characters that we are presented in this universe. Filming should have started last year, but the COVID pandemic delayed everything. However, we are happy with this break, because we have regrouped and we are on the right track to get this project started ”.
The cast will also include Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman.
Marwen Kenzari and Sarah Shahi were also cast, but details of their roles have not been revealed.
While information about the tale remains withheld, fans already know that Black Adam is the primary antagonist for the hero known as Shazam. In modern times, however, the character has evolved into an extremely complex and troubled antihero – becoming one of the most important creations in DC’s pantheon.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (‘Águas Rasas’), the film will take place in the same universe as ‘Shazam!’.
