‘Eternals’: understand the post-credit scenes of Marvel Studios’ new adventure

The text below contains SPOILERS!

As is already a tradition in Marvel films, “Eternos” features two post-credit scenes…

The first of them shows Thena (Angelina Jolie), Druig (Barry Keoghan) and Makkari (Lauren Ridloff) traveling through space aboard the Domo spacecraft, on a mission to find eternal companions from other planets and from other planets. tell the truth about their creation and everyone’s plan of Arishem the Heavenly.

The trio discuss returning to Earth to find out what happened to Sersi (Gemma Chan), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), and Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry) after Arishem contacted them at the end of the plot.

However, the big surprise of the scene is the arrival of two unexpected visitors. One of them is Pip, a little troll already known from Marvel comics, who enters the Dome through a portal and announces the arrival of Eros (Harry Styles), the brother of Thanos.

Eros, who is also an Eternal, has traveled the far reaches of the universe and offers to help him find his fellow men, claiming to know where they are.

Additionally, he suggests that he can contact the Celestials by showing a golden sphere similar to the one Ajak (Salma Hayek) and Sersi used to communicate with Arishem.

The second post-credits scene shows Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) in an office, facing an old trunk bearing his family crest.

Visibly anxious, he doubts whether or not to open the box, but moves on.

Opening the chest, he stumbles upon an ancient sword with an ebony blade, and when he’s about to touch it, a deep voice surprises him, asking if he’s ready for what’s to come.

But what do the post-credits scenes mean?

The former makes it clear that Eros should have a starring role in the feature film sequel or even another film that explores the MCU’s cosmic theme.

Without a doubt, Eros is the one who must take control of the rescue mission, while the other Eternals try to find answers to what happened to Sersi, who disappeared without a trace at the end of the plot.

Speaking of Whitman’s fate, producer Nate Moore had previously planned that new films would explore the character’s transformation into Black Knight, herald of the Eternals on Earth and defender of the material plane.

Now it remains to be seen which voice communicates with him.

While a sequel has not been confirmed, Marvel Studios already have plans to continue the story, as the final sign says:

“The ‘Eternals’ will return.”

So what are your expectations for the next hero adventure?

Revision | Eternos is Marvel’s most artistic, complex and original film… for better or for worse!

Remember that the feature film is already showing in national cinemas.

‘Eternals’ follows the journey of quasi-immortal beings, products of the evolutionary divergence that gave birth to the human race millennia ago. The characters relate to several concepts already introduced in previous universe films, from the Celestials (who came out in “Guardians of the Galaxy”) to Thanos, whose own mother was one of his victims.

The cast also includes Salma Hayek (Ajak), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), Lauren Ridloff (Makkari), Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), Lia McHugh (Sprite), Gemma Chan (Sersi), Kit Harington (Black Knight), Barry Kheogan (Druig) and Richard Madden (Ikaris).
