[EXCLUSIVO] ‘Alex Rider’: Showrunner reveals which book will be adapted in season 2

Alex Rider’s 1st season was a resounding success with audiences and critics, which quickly guaranteed the renewal of a new cycle.

And production showrunner Guy Burt has revealed – EXCLUSIVE to CinePOP – which book will be adapted in the upcoming second season. In an interview with journalist and critic Rafa Gomes, the creator also gave details on how the adaptation of the work will be carried out:

“Eagle Strike will be the book used in season 2. The adaptation will change a lot of aspects of the book, like we did in the first season, but like I said before, I hope the version television is close to the spirit of the story and that it will give us something recognizable from the original plot, but with a more contemporary, daring and dark touch ”.

Burt also shared what fans can expect from the new cycle, noting that Alex Rider is far from returning to the life he had before his uncle Ian Rider passed away:

“It’s not a spoiler to say that the normal life he so longs for won’t turn out the way he expects.
We started the season with him trying to put it all behind us, but the past is something that has a way of creeping into his life and something that we determined in the first season is that there are villains. around, like that mysterious killer who killed your uncle and also works for Dr. Greif. This character, played by Thomas Levin, plays a crucial role throughout the books and Anthony himself has written derivative work solely on his past. So the way Alex’s world intersects with Yassen’s world starts to get even bigger in season two ”.
