‘Avengers: Endgame’ showed its own rules for time travel, but it’s clear that other films in the genre had some plot significance, like ‘Back to the Future’ , according to Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, writers of the feature film.
“We have watched ‘Back to the Future’ 1 and 2 on several occasions. But you must have guessed it already, right? McFeely told Comic Book. “If we want to follow the rules of time travel and think it’s okay, that also shows how important ‘Back to the Future’ is.”
However, they decided not to go this route and Christopher Markus admitted that they modeled aspects of his rules after watching “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”.
“I love the third ‘Harry Potter’ movie, when that stone is going to break a vase … You don’t know what happened and the scene is so good you can’t get it out of your head,” McFeely said. “So when you come back [no tempo] and realizing that they threw stones at each other, I love it.
McFeely also revealed that if they knew there would be time travel a few years ago, they might leave clues about it in other movies, like in The Avengers itself (2012), but nobody thought about it at the time.
Still, it’s good to know how cinema in general continues to influence new narratives from concepts introduced in completely different films.
Remember ‘Avengers: Endgame’ amassed US $ 2.798 billion worldwide
