‘Flames of Vengeance’: ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ actor joins the cast of the remake

According to Deadline, actor Michael Greyeyes, known for his roles in ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ and ‘The New World’, has joined the cast of the upcoming ‘Flames of Vengeance‘ remake, based on the Stephen King novel.

Greyeyes will bring Rainbird to life, described as “a ruthless and powerful man who has been drawn into a life of violence”.

He joins the previously announced Zac Efron, who will be Andy McGee, the father of a young orphaned protagonist. In the feature film, the girl develops pyrokinetic skills and is kidnapped by a secret government agency who wants to use her powers as a deadly combat weapon.

Keith Thomas directs the film. Scott Teems signs the screenplay for the new adaptation.

The original feature film, released in 1984, starred Drew Barrymore.

The remake will be produced by Blumhouse. Akiva Goldsman is also collaborating on the screenplay.

In the plot, a couple live an “innovative” fertilization experience and end up producing a child with pyrokinesia, that is, who dominates the fire.

No other information was revealed.
