‘Frasier’: Paramount + expands revival, with return of Kelsey Grammer

The rebirth of the famous sitcom Frasier is finally taking shape and will be developed by the upcoming streaming platform Paramount +. Star Kelsey Grammer, interpreter of the eponymous character, also returns to the role.

The information was confirmed by the streaming service itself, during an event organized by ViacomCBS.

In an official statement, Grammer celebrated the return of the production, which spanned 11 seasons and won 39 Emmy Awards:

“Having spent over 20 years of my creative life on the Paramount lot, producing series and staring in several of them, and I want to congratulate Paramount + on their entry into the streaming world. I look forward to sharing the next chapter in Dr. Frasier Crane’s continuing journey.

A “Frasier” revival has been the subject of conversations and negotiations for years. In 2019, Grammer even commented in an interview that the project was taking shape, slated for launch in 2020. However, the return of the series was not formalized at the time, with the novelty only being truly confirmed now. .

“Frasier” accompanies a psychiatrist who presents a radio program and transmits spirit and wisdom to the listeners. However, he has many difficulties in dealing with his own problems: O, a pretentious brother, his friends and colleagues.

In Brazil, the series was broadcast on the Sony channel.
