After so many years of waiting, the long-awaited sequel “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is finally starting to come to life and filmmaker James Gunn has given new details on his production process with the upcoming project.

In a recent interview with EW magazine, the director of “The Suicide Squad” said fans can expect a “very heavy” movie. He further reflected on the fact that few changes had been made to the original script.

“I’m still shooting ‘Peacemaker’, but I’m starting to work on ‘Guardians 3’. For the rest, the script is mostly written for a long time. I’ve played with him in a number of ways over the years, but he’s basically stayed the same for the past three years. It’s quite heavy actually. It’s a bigger story, so it’s an emotional process to go through ”.

Scheduled for release in May 2023, Gunn also recently revealed that filming will take place from the end of this year.

“The soundtrack is already over. Filming for the film will begin later this year, ”he wrote.
