The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ comic book adaptation became a huge hit from its big screen debut, with the cast being one of the most beloved aspects of the production.
And according to filmmaker James Gunn, actress Zoe Saldana has always been her first choice for the role of Gamora. The director shared the information in response to a question from a Twitter follower.
At the time, Gunn also pointed out that of all the names he suggested for the cast, Saldana’s was the only one that ended up being made official.
Check out his response:
“So Zoe Saldana was Gamora’s first choice. I think it was my only casting idea in my pitch that ended up happening (Yondu’s role – which was made for Rooker – hadn’t been written yet. “
So @zoesaldana was my number one choice for Gamora. I think that’s the only casting idea in my talk that ended up happening (Yondu’s role – which I wrote for Rooker – hasn’t been written yet.) Https://t.co / BoSVJngM8F

The revelation flies in the face of Amanda Seyfried’s claim, who claimed she was invited to play Gamora but declined the role because she didn’t want to spend hours on makeup to be… green:
“I refused [um filme de super-herói] once and I haven’t called back since. It was a great movie, but I don’t regret it because I didn’t want to stay green six months a year. They tell great stories through superheroes, and now my daughter is obsessed with them. Part of me would have liked to do this, but the other part said, “I had a life to live” and I don’t think I would be satisfied. “

It’s worth remembering that on Disney Investor Day, Kevin Feige revealed that the film won’t premiere until 2023 – with a date to be defined.
Production will begin filming at the end of 2021.
This is the fourth MCU film with a production schedule slated for next year. January 2021 will kick off with the recordings of ‘Thor: Amor e Thunder’, followed by ‘Black Panther 2’ and ‘Ant-Man 3’.
For now, Marvel Studios is continuing its work in the ‘Spider-Man 3’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ sequels.
A few months ago, Gunn revealed to Comic Book that the sequel will be Rocket’s farewell to the big screen.
Additionally, he is the only member of the Guardians who has not yet died in any way. Groot sacrificed himself for the team, Gamora was killed by Thanos, and the other members “ died ” at the villain’s slam.
