As of yet, there’s no idea what’s new, but speculation is already emerging about the premiere date of “ Pinocchio, ” the expected stop-motion production produced in partnership with Netflix.

Written and directed by del Toro with Mark Gustafson (“The Fantastic Lord”), the feature film is based on the conception of Gris Grimly in his 2002 edition of the Italian novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio”, by Carlo Collodi.

Recalling that the filmmaker’s next film is the remake of “The Alley of Lost Souls” (Nightmare Alley).

In the United States, the film will hit theaters on December 3.

In addition to producing, Del Toro is also co-writing the screenplay alongside Kim Morgan.

In the plot, a young circus gifted with a talent for manipulating people with few well-chosen words ends up getting involved with a psychiatrist far more dangerous than he imagined.

The cast includes Bradley Cooper, Toni Collette, Cate Blanchett, Willem Dafoe, David Strathairn, Rooney Mara and Holt McCallany.

Like the original, the new feature will also be based on the book written by William Lindsay Gresham.

The first adaptation was released in 1947 and directed by Edmund Goulding. The classic noir tells the story of an ambitious young man who begins to have a relationship with a psychiatrist even more corrupt than him. Both do well in destroying people’s lives, but they soon begin to manipulate them.
