Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro is considered by many to be one of the finest and most stylish directors of our time, with incredible films to his credit such as ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’, ‘The Shape of water” and “Hellboy”.
His new horror, “Nightmare Alley,” received critical acclaim with an 80% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and received four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.
A failure in theaters, the film was released the same weekend as the “Spider-Man: No Homecoming” phenom and was overshadowed and forgotten by audiences. The horror debuted for a measly $2.9 million in the US – which is an DISTRACT debut for a production budgeted at $60 million.
Now, the production finally finds its audience in the Star+ catalog – where it debuted among the most watched films in streaming.
