Happy Hogan would die in ‘Iron Man 3’, but Jon Favreau asked to stay …

After directing and starring in the first two “Iron Man” movies, Jon Favreau became a staple of the MCU as Happy Hogan.

Besides being the right-hand man of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Happy has gained a lot of space in the new ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy, serving as ‘big brother’ to Peter Parker (Tom Holland).

But Favreau and Kevin Feige revealed to the comics that Happy almost missed the Webhead movies.

This is because the character would die in ‘Iron Man 3’.

For those who don’t remember, the sequel released in 2013 shows Jack Taggart (Ashley Hamilton) eventually exploding from the dose of Extremis applied to his body, and the detonation leaves Happy seriously injured.

“Since 2006… Working with Feige has been a wonderful, friendly collaboration. And it’s so nice to have expanded my role in the Spider-Man trilogy now, as well as the Avengers movies. And to think that I was almost excluded from all that… ”, declared Favreau.

Feige added:

“He knows? There was a slight difference in the script from the final version of ‘Iron Man 3’, as Happy would die. But Jon had a complaint – it’s one of the biggest complaints he ever had. have done us over the years – which was, “What if Happy was badly injured but still lives?” I’ve said it a few times, the MCU wouldn’t be what it is without Mr. Favreau. It all started with ‘Iron Man’, but keeping Happy Hogan’s heart and soul present is what’s truly amazing.

Finally, Favreau concluded by saying that:

“They listened to my request and welcomed me! I’m so happy to have been part of this and to be able to be there with Tom Holland from the start. It is a pleasure to work with him and with [o diretor] Jon Watts, an incredibly talented guy! It’s so much fun to continue this relationship [com a Marvel Studios]. It’s a big part of my life, and these people aren’t just colleagues, they’re my friends.

Recalling that “Spider-Man: Sem Volta Para Casa” continues to be screened in national cinemas.
