While appearing on the Inside of You podcast with Michael Rosembaum, Matthew Lewis shared a touching story from when he starred in the “Harry Potter” saga.
The Neville Longbottom interpreter recalled a conversation he had with Alan Rickman, the interpreter of Severus Snape, on his last day of recording.
The star said the conversation was very important for the future of his career because:
“Part of the cast was about to finish the photography, it was my last day, so I went to visit a few colleagues’ locker rooms. When I met Alan he said to me, ‘Dude, I know this is your last day here and I just wanted to say it was amazing working with you for so long. We didn’t talk much, but I admit it’s because I was terrified of your talent, you’re incredible ”.
“I couldn’t believe it when he said, ‘Thank you for allowing me to work with you for 10 years and never yell at me or treat any of us differently.’ And he asked me to come over, we had tea, we talked about the future of my career and he gave me a lot of advice.
Without a doubt, this is one of those experiences that everyone would treasure for the rest of their life.
And it looks like Lewis took Rickman’s advice as he built a solid career after the franchise ended in 2011.
Among her main works, Lewsi starred in the acclaimed investigative thriller ‘Wasteland’ (2012), opposite Emilia Clarke in ‘How I Was Before You’ (2016) and is currently casting the British series’ All Creatures Great. and Small ‘.
