‘House of the Dragon’: Matt Smith says there may be too many sex scenes in the plot

Like ‘Game of Thrones’, the derivative ‘House of the Dragon’ should abuse sex scenes, as revealed by Matt Smith, interpreter of Prince Daemon Targaryen.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the star said he felt the attraction’s creators exaggerated when it came to scenes like this.

“When I was shooting, I was like, ‘Do we need another sex scene?’ And they were like, Let’s do one more. But I think when you do something based on a book, you should describe it as it is in the book,” he said, referring to the excess of sexual passages in the novels of Geoge RR Martin.

Despite everything, he admitted that he did not expect there to be this excess in the adaptation?

“I really think it’s your job to represent the books with sincerity and honesty as they were written. But if you ask me my opinion, I say it’s a bit too much, it’s exaggerated.

It should be remembered that when “Game of Thrones” premiered, it was considered a very controversial series for abusing female nudity and portraying a good part of women as sexual objects and without great political importance, to except for three or four.

Have fun watching:

But that won’t happen in the spin-off, as producer Sara Hess assured.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Hess said that:

“I would like to clarify that we don’t depict sexual violence on the show. I think what our show does, and what I’m proud of, is that we chose to focus on violence against women which is inherent in a patriarchal system, such as the absence of many of their rights.

His comments echo a statement given by showrunner Miguel Sapochnik.

“You cannot ignore the violence that was perpetrated against women through men at that time. It’s something that shouldn’t be minimized and shouldn’t be glorified, so we strive to touch that hurt throughout the show.

Recalling that the first season will consist of ten episodes and is scheduled to air on August 21.

The story is set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones” and follows Daenerys’ ancestors as House Targaryen crumbles. The plot is based on the novel “Fire & Blood” by George RR Martin, who also joins as a creator alongside Ryan J. Condal.

The cast includes Olivia Cooke, who will play Alicent Hightower, the beautiful daughter of the Hand of the King; Emma D’Arcy will play Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Viserys’ eldest daughter; Matt Smith will play Prince Daemon Targaryen, the King’s younger brother; Paddy Considine will be King Viserys; Fabien Frankel will play Ser Criston Cole, member of King Viserys I Targaryen’s guard; Rhys Ifans will play Otto Hightower, Hand of the King; Steve Toussaint will play Lord Corlys Velaryon, the Sea Serpent; Eve Best will play Princess Rhaenys Velaryon; Sonoya Mizuno will play Mysaria, one of Prince Daemon Targaryen’s most trusted (and unlikely) allies, heir to the throne; and Graham McTavish in an undisclosed role; and Milly Alcock and Emily Carey will play young Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower respectively.
