“John Wick 4”: “Wynonna Earp” actor joins the cast of the sequel

According to the comic, Shamier Anderson (‘Wynonna Earp’) was cast in ‘John Wick 4’ in a leading role.

For now, details on the star’s character are being kept under wraps, so it’s unclear whether he’ll be one of the heroes or villains.

Also known for the recent movie ‘Accidental Passenger’ and the series ‘Trailer Park Boys’ and ‘Dear White People’, Shamier teams up with the legendary Donnie Yen, who will bring to life an old friend of the main character (played by Keanu Reeves) and who “shares the same history and the same enemies”.

In turn, Yen joins Rina Sawayama, previously announced. Ian McShane also returns for the sequel.

Recently, franchise creator and original screenwriter Derek Kolstad revealed to Collider that he won’t be returning for sequels.

At the time, the screenwriter of the first three films, dodged a concrete answer, but said he was excited about what will soon come to the acclaimed action saga:

“I’m not really involved in the fourth and fifth films. At some point, the studio will tell you that your creation is formed and you will wish them good luck. I am always close to Chad [Stahelski] and Dave [Leitch] and I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I can’t wait to see it.

Recalling that the premiere of ‘John Wick 4’ is scheduled for May 27, 2022.

The 3rd film in the franchise, “John Wick: Parabellum”, became a box office hit and grossed $ 321.6 million worldwide – on a budget of $ 75 million.
