Netflix has officially canceled ‘Julie and the Phantoms’, an international remake of Brazilian children’s series ‘Julie and the Ghosts’, after just one season.

“We send our love and thanks to fans of the series around the world for the support you have shown us since the premiere,” said creator Kenny Ortega. “We discovered this week that Netflix had not renewed us for a second season. Although we are sad, we will go forward with pride for what we have accomplished as a team and as a family that we have built by creating this series.

The series was created by Kenny Ortega (“High School Musical”).

Teenage Julie discovers a passion for music and life when she creates a group with a trio of ghosts.

Madison Reyes, Charlie Gillespie, Jeremy Shada and Owen Joyner are the stars.

It should be remembered that the original domestic production was a huge success and even won a nomination for Best Children’s Program at the International Emmy.
