DC fans were almost introduced to a new Green Lantern performer in the feature film ‘Justice League by Zack Snyder’ and the director revealed in a recent event who the actor would have been cast for the role.

While attending Justice Con, a fan-hosted POP culture convention, Snyder revealed that actor Wayne T. Carr was cast as John Stewart in his version (via Total Film).

The filmmaker took it a step further and said that Carr even shot a scene for the film, which was ultimately left out of the final cut. Additionally, the little-known actor was not wearing a physical Green Lantern uniform and his snap was reportedly recorded using a CGI costume.

Concept art for the character, developed by artist Jojo Aguilar, had recently been shared and Snyder gave details on the subject:

“Jojo created the acting art that we used when we did the scene with the actor. The guy’s name is Wayne T. Carr. He’s an incredible actor, a gentleman, and incredibly kind. And I said to him, ‘Look, there’s a chance this won’t go into the final cut of the movie. We were shooting at the entrance to my garage, so I’m not 100% sure if he thought it was real ”.

The Snyder Cut appealed to critics more than the version of Joss Whedon, who was hired by Warner to complete the film and change the perspective of the original director.

While Joss Whedon’s Cup had a 40% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Snyder’s Cup opened with 74% approval.

Apparently, the director was right about the studio’s interventions on his work.

Snyder’s average score was 6.7 out of 10 compared to 5.3 out of 10 for Whedon.
