Director Zack Snyder had revealed in an interview with Variety that his version of the feature film “Justice League” would show a hero who “would blow the heads of fans.” The comment led audiences to believe Green Lantern would be brought to the film’s new cut, but the rumors were quickly denied.

Now, a source close to the project has commented on the io9 site that the special appearance had already been revealed and that it would be the Mars Hunter.

The character is played by Harry Lennix, who was a part of several entries in the DC Universe, including ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘Batman Vs. Superman’. However, he had yet to become the hero as we know him (at least not yet).

For those unfamiliar with him, the Mars Hunter made his debut in Detective Comics # 225, in November 1955. J’onn J’onnz’s alter ego hails from Mars and became known in Brazil as from Ajax, Marciano, for several years. His abilities include Telepathy, Invisibility, Intangibility, Accelerated Regeneration, and many more, while having drastic weakness in the fire.

It should be remembered that the film debuts on March 18 on HBO Max in the USA and on VOD in the rest of the world.

In Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’, determined to ensure that Superman’s (Henry Cavill) final sacrifice is not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) teams up with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) to recruit a squad metahumans to protect the world from an imminent threat of catastrophic proportions. The task is more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face off against demons from their own past to transcend what stood in their way, allowing them to unite and ultimately form an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their terrible intentions ”.
