According to Deadline, Taryn Manning (“Orange is the New Black”) will star in horror horror “Karen,” which will bring a social criticism in the same style as “Run!”
The plot will follow Karen Drexler (Manning), a racist white woman whose personal mission is to move the new black family that has just moved into the house next to hers. Community activist Malik (Cory Hardrict) and his wife Imani (Jasmine Burke) are the couple who just moved to suburban Atlanta, but they’re not going to give up without a fight.
The cast also includes Roger Dorman and Gregory Alan Williams.
In a statement, Manning said, “I felt it was my social responsibility to take on this role. Even though I have to play a bad guy to change the world. What is happening now is devastating. It’s time for a change and to be a part of it means a lot to me.
Coke Daniels will be responsible for the staging.
New information should be published soon.
