Keanu Reeves spawned one of the most famous memes on the internet when he was photographed alone with his face sad while having a snack while sitting on a park bench.

After that, the image went viral under the term “Sad Keanu”.

And, in recent days, the meme has once again become one of the most talked about topics on the internet due to the similarity of an image of the comic book BRZRKR, produced by himself.

During an interview for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Reeves brought up the topic and revealed a few anecdotes behind the meme.

The “Matrix” and “John Wick” star joked about the comparison and said he was only hungry when the picture was taken, not sad.

He also explained that “BRZRKR” illustrator Ron Garney placed the meme reference in Volume 1 of the story without his permission.

When asked why he became the target of this meme and so many others, Reeves simply replied that he had no idea.
