According to TVLine, Demián Bichir (“The Nun“) has joined the cast of the series “Let the Right One In”, which is being developed by the Showtime channel.

The production is based on the novel written by John Ajvide Lindqvist, which has resulted in two adaptations for the big screen, the Swedish “Let It Enter” (2008) and the American “Let Me Enter” (2010).

The plot follows a father (Bichir) and his 12-year-old daughter whose life changed forever 10 years ago, when she was transformed into a vampire. Trapped at the same age forever, Eleanor leads a closed life, only able to go out at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the minimum amount of human blood she needs to stay alive.

Andrew Hinderaker (“Penny Dreadful“) will be the showrunner for the series.

“This series will be a love letter to the original film and will also go its own way,” Hinderaker said in a statement. “And the hiring of an amazing actor like Demián reinforces our daring mission to create one of the most terrifying series on television, besides being one of the most exciting.
